About Me
Hi there, I’m Dave. I’m a pretty simple guy who loves to make photographs and spend as much time with my wife and son as I can. I grew up in a small town in Michigan and really value the sense of family and community. I have moved several times throughout the years and now make my bed in Fargo, ND. And yes, it really does get that cold here. I’m lover of great coffee, chocolate chip cookies, and motorcycles...big cities, big burgers, Havarti cheese, my wife and my son. J
My style
My goal is to tell a story within every image and my style is often described as a blend of evocative wedding photojournalism with a splash of contemporary and a big ole shot of totally natural.
With this style, my high standards of quality and creativity, and my philosophy of putting clients first, I am truly focused on providing you with a relaxed “no worry” experience. This creates wonderful friendships with each and every one of my clients that goes far beyond the day of your wedding.
I have a drive to look for images that are uniquely you, a technical side that loves conquering the challenging conditions that wedding days sometimes produce, and a trained eye for light, composition, and design.
Working with me
I know that every wedding is unique and having a strong sense of family myself, I am inspired and touched by the warmth and emotions that I document. While I let the day unfold in a natural way, I take the responsibility of capturing your memories very seriously.
Most of the day I will be hiding in plain sight. I do my best to disappear while still capturing the day from that insider perspective. I love when a couple looks at an image and says, “When did you get that? I didn't even know you were there!”. Throughout the day, I step in and out to take the lead and ensure everyone looks their very best and feels totally comfortable, especially during group shots and portraits.
I love to find details, moments, emotions, and let things happen without interfering or creating situations and, thus, build authentic stories. I do, when the client asks, set up shots that totally hit home with the couple when it is something in which they both feel passionate and it's always a favorite!
I have a unique ability to make people feel comfortable in front of the camera and this allows me to capture joyful and intimate moments in a way that always feels fun and relaxed.
